Video: Laura Marling, Ryan Adams: “Oh My Sweet Carolina”
As Ryan Adams explains in this clip from last night’s Live at Abbey Road, Laura Marling’s sophomore LP became a driving force behind his latest album, Ashes & Fire, when their mutual friend/collaborator Ethan Johns passed it along while he was writing new material. Marling has also been a longtime Adams fan, of course, citing his name in “New Romantic,” the opening track off her 2007 debut EP. Now this mutual appreciation society has finally resulted in a duet: Here’s Marling singing the Emmylou part in Heartbreaker’s “Oh My Sweet Carolina,” live from one of the world’s most famous recording studios.

Love this. The combination of Ryan and Laura is perfection. Plus, Ryan has never looked more like Rick Moranis. (bonus)
